Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. A new business with "frequently asked questions".

I'm new to this, you're new to this, lets work through it together.

Here's what I think people might ask (these will update over time to actual FAQs).

Why is your business called "FunStabs"?

I was daydreaming about what I could make as a business back when I was a teacher. I love tattoos and drawing and painting and making stuff, so I was thinking maybe I could be a tattoo artist and thoroughly disappoint my parents. I refer to my tattoos as fun stabs because I am a deeply broken person. Then I made the leap between tattoo needles and sewing needles. Cue the idea not leaving my head - even when I left my job. Thus, here we are, almost a year on from thought genesis, and I'm still not quite there with the business - but I am further along than just a name. So, that's some progress there.

Can I hire you for a workshop/one off unique job?

First of all, thank you for thinking of me! Second of all, absolutely! Please contact me at contact@funstabs.com with details of what you're looking for, and I will get back to you as soon as possible with my availability and prices.

Who can you run workshops for?

I will run workshops for anyone - as long as I deem it safe to do so. I am a qualified teacher (textiles specialist, believe it or not) and have seven years experience of teaching a range of age groups and abilities. I have also worked with local autism charities for a number of years, which has given me a deep and profound understanding of a range of conditions and working with these instead of against them. I'm not afraid of a challenge and will happily tailor sessions to your needs.

I want to donate fabrics/materials - how can I go about that?

Awh, heck yeah, that's amazing! I don't have loads of room as I'm currently working out of my living room, but I'm happy to rehome fabrics and friends if I have space! Please contact me at contact@funstabs.com and let me know what you'd like to donate.

I want to help your business grow - but how?

Pal, I am glad you asked! There are a couple of ways to go about this, which I shall list below:

  • Word of mouth (by far the cheapest and potentially most effective option)

  • Donating old clothes/fabrics for me to upcycle and customise (I'll work out a loyalty/discount scheme to go with this!)

  • Hire me! I will run workshops to help teach people how to learn these skills!

  • Buy my stuff! The more income this has, the more I can advertise and grow awareness!

  • My Amazon Wishlist (I don't want to give Jeff more money either, but it's an easy way for me to get my hands on new materials for workshops and such)

  • I don't know how investors work or any of that "I have lots of spare money and want to give it to small businesses" experience, but if you do - please feel free to get in touch <3

Do you ship/work internationally?

As of right now, I don't have the capacity to work internationally. This is something that I will explore in the future when FunStabs develops from the teeny tiny business it currently is. Please contact me if you're desperate to work with me.
